MIBRAR

Micro-Invasive Biological Regenerative Autologous Reconstruction — Professor Arsen Babayan’s patented system for treating joints and the spine without surgery (Munich, Germany).

The MIBRAR® System

MIBRAR® is a patented system of micro-invasive regenerative treatment developed by Professor Arsen Babayan. The name stands for Micro-Invasive Biological Regenerative Autologous Reconstruction.

  • MIBRAR® RRGGS — regenerative reconstruction of joints and joint structures.
  • MIBRAR® RRBSW — regeneration and reconstruction of intervertebral discs and spinal segments.

What MIBRAR® Means

What the method can achieve

Procedures performed using the MIBRAR® method can cover up to 95% of the spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in neurosurgery, orthopedics and trauma surgery. It enables extensive operations involving heavy strain, as well as endoprosthetics, while largely avoiding the administration of synthetic medication.

MIBRAR® (MICRO-INVASIVE BIOLOGICAL REGENERATIVE AUTOLOGOUS RECONSTRUCTION) is a micro-invasive intervention method that serves regenerative medicine in particular, promoting the morphological regeneration and macroscopic reconstruction of the body’s tissues and structures to an especially high degree. According to Prof. Babayan’s findings, interventions intended to achieve effective regeneration or reconstruction of the body must be performed in a maximally tissue-preserving and micro-invasive manner.

The body’s natural regenerative response

International studies show that the body’s own factors responsible for regeneration (growth factors and pro-inflammatory factors) naturally migrate to the location where they are “most urgently needed.” This reaction occurs primarily in the case of acute tissue injury, such as when creating surgical access points or injuring healthy tissue during an operation.

Many regenerative factors are drawn toward healing the tissue injury. As a result, a large part of the regenerative effect of the concentrate is lost for the original problem, and in such cases the effectiveness of regenerative medicine in healing the affected site is significantly reduced.

Puncture instead of incision

A tissue incision, even one of the smallest dimensions, requires a far longer healing process, sometimes taking several weeks, in which certain bodily substances are always involved. A puncture created by a micro-dimensioned surgical instrument, which merely stretches the body tissue, closes and heals within a few hours or days after the operation is completed.

The MIBRAR® method is based on the principle of injuring healthy tissue only minimally. The healing process and the outcome are greatly influenced by whether valuable substances produced by the body itself are applied minimally invasively through an incision that causes tissue injury, or micro-invasively through only a puncture with maximal avoidance of tissue injury. To enhance this effect, acute injuries are deliberately and specifically induced — using a special technique at the affected site — in order to artificially trigger the natural reaction of the regenerative substances and concentrate their effectiveness on the affected area.

The core principle of access

The fundamental approach of MIBRAR® is to enter the relevant surgical field without an incision, through an opening no larger than a needle stick. Through the consistent use of micro-dimensional instruments, with the aid of special navigation devices and targeting equipment, the entire micro-invasive procedure is carried out with maximum control and minimal physical strain on the patient. The exclusive administration of specially prepared autologous substances brings about a lasting healing process.

Proprietary Devices & Instruments

Navigation and precision

To technically implement the micro-invasive procedure of the MIBRAR® method while ensuring maximum visual control, precision and micro-invasiveness, Prof. Babayan developed surgical planning systems, intra-operative navigation and targeting devices (KNK devices and equipment, as well as the Cyber Navi Hand™ grid), special surgical devices (Sono Control Arm™), unique micro-dimensional endoscopes and arthroscopes, as well as micro-dimensional instruments, all to the highest international technical standard.

The targeting devices and surgical planning systems developed by Prof. Dr. Babayan (Cyber Navi Hand™) provide the necessary intraoperative navigation and visual control to reach hard-to-access, deep-lying body structures without risking unnecessary and dangerous injury to organs, structures or healthy tissue. The micro-dimensional instruments are used with maximum precision. At the same time, radiation exposure is significantly reduced through intraoperative X-ray control compared to the most modern standards and previous technology.

Ultrasound without radiation

The extensive use of ultrasound in intraoperative control (Sono Control Arm™) makes it possible to perform many procedures with particular precision and without X-ray radiation exposure.

Surgical planning

In the pre-operative phase, specially developed software makes it possible to carry out the entire course of the operation in virtual planning and to calculate the optimal surgical access points and the exact application of the special micro-dimensional surgical instruments.

Autologous concentrate

Two types of autologous concentrate are used: plasma obtained from venous blood, enriched with growth factors and pro-inflammatory factors, and a substance obtained from subcutaneous fatty tissue, which has a particularly high concentration of growth factors and lipogenic components. Both substances are applied separately or together as an autologous graft. This micro-invasive technique, combined with the use of purely the body’s own substances, completes the regenerative MIBRAR® method.

Advantages

The MIBRAR® method offers numerous advantages over conventional surgical procedures — from eliminating the need for anesthesia to avoiding prostheses to fast healing without a hospital stay.

Fields of Application

  • Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery

  • Dentistry
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Ophthalmology
  • Cosmetic Surgery
  • Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology
  • Urology
  • Abdominal Surgery

Reconstructive Result

Through the morphological regenerative process, body structures reconstruct themselves macroscopically, leading to a mechanical restoration that re-establishes the body’s biodynamics and static balance. The natural, regenerative reconstruction of body structures offers a solution for pathologies with mechanical causes resulting from deformations of body structures. This avoids the need for prostheses or other artificial implants.
